Christine Pundyk, a licensed Clinical Psychologist, earned a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology, at Adler University in Chicago, IL. She subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at WVU School of Medicine specializing in Health Psychology, focusing on pre-surgical psychological evaluations for both bariatric and chronic pain patients to determine appropriateness for different types of surgeries. Dr. Pundyk specializes in the treatment of various chronic pain conditions, depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, chronic stress, and individuals self-managing various medical illnesses. Whether it be a major lifestyle/habit change (ie. physical activity, dietary habits, weight management, sleep) or the self-management of a new medical diagnosis or ongoing health issues, she works with patients to find practical skills and tools that fit their needs and life context with the primary goal of helping them improve their overall quality of life and sense of well-being. Dr. Pundyk delivers evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, typically incorporating relaxation/breathing strategies and teaching of mindfulness skills. She offers additional services in the areas of comprehensive and individualized psychological testing, various pre-surgical psychological evaluations, supportive individual therapy as well as group therapy.
